They need a little grammatical work but the ideas are clear... I normally hope for the best but get ready for nothing to happen. I just don't like the negatives of the 'worst' not that I don't prepare for things just jumping to the worst is normally a dark place so I just go for a more even nothing, but I totally understand what you mean...

If you meant really 'to write' then you'd have to change the sentence. But it's okay I just saw it and wanted to ask a question. Take care and again hope everything is going well for you after losing the young lady that inspired your poem...
