Are you a Water Lover?

When you think of water and sex together, I'm sure you instantly picture steamy shower sex with butt cheeks pressed against the screen. Maybe even a bathtub overflowing with bubbles surrounded by candlelight, or how about jacuzzi sex on a romantic weekend away in a private log cabin? Well, this is the ultimate pleasure town, mind-blowing and sensual experience I could imagine myself in.

I have always been drawn to water and found specific scenarios and imagery featuring water extremely arousing from a young age. From wet T-shirt competitions on the TV to seeking out porn that primarily happened in a pool or shower... you get the picture; if water was involved, I was turned on.

So what is it about water that gets my juices flowing? For me, the feeling of water touching my skin, the way it drips down my body, the sound water makes, floating, exploring temperature play, and feeling slippery and wet makes me feel sensual and excited. It is hard to pinpoint precisely why water has such an arousing quality for me, but I totally got off at the latest Avatar movie, 'Way of the Water'.

Note: Aqua erotics is not to be confused with water sports, as aqua erotics dives into sexual activities not attributed to bodily fluids.

Here are a few ways to explore water and sex together:

What types of water kinks are there?

There is a whole aqua erotic world out there with quite a few different aqua fetishes/kinks, including some of the following:

  • Ablutophilia - sexual excitement from baths or showers.
  • Bidetonism - The use of the water spray from a bidet/showerhead for sexual gratification and masturbation
  • Coitobalnism - Sexual intercourse in a water-filled bathtub
  • Coitus a unda – Sex underwater (maybe leave this to professionals)
  • Liquidophilia - Immersing genitals in liquids

Practicing your water kinks consciously

  • Communication and consent: It is crucial to communicate openly and honestly with your partner(s) about your interests, boundaries, and desires. Ensure all participants are consenting adults who are comfortable and enthusiastic about exploring aqua erotics together.
  • Water safety: Water can pose certain risks, so it's important to prioritize safety. If you plan to engage in aqua erotic activities in a pool, ensure the water is clean and properly maintained. If you're considering activities in natural bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, or the ocean, be aware of potential hazards such as strong currents, rough waves, or water pollution. It's essential to be mindful of the safety risks associated with the specific environment.
  • Hygiene: Maintaining good hygiene practices is important, especially when engaging in sexual water-related activities. Ensure that the water you're using is clean and free from contaminants. Showering before and after the activities can help minimize the risk of infections or other health issues.
  • Use of lubrication: Water can wash away natural lubrication, so using a water-based lubricant can help enhance comfort and reduce any potential discomfort during aqua erotic activities.
  • Safe sex practices: If penetration or any sexual activities involving bodily fluids are part of your aqua erotic practices, it's important to use appropriate protection.
